We Celebrate Our 150th Anniversary of Brush-making!
Mr. Yasubei Shiromoto (great-great-grandfather of the current President) became a brush craftsman in 1869 (Meiji 2) and started fude-making in Kumano Town.
Mr. Shodai Joichi Shiromoto (Joichi Shiromoto I (First)) received the license from Hiroshima Prefecture as "Fude Yui (making and selling brushes)" first in Kumano Town in January 1881 (Meiji 14), and we, as a company named “Shiromoto Shouten,” started brush manufacturing and selling, officially. Therefore, January 1881 is the official foundation year of our company.
We celebrate our 150th anniversary of brush-making this year!
Kakizome (First Calligraphy of the Year) Contest in Hiroshima!
About 2,000 elementary school students, junior high school students, and high school students in total gathered at the Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center and participated in the Kakizome contest. It looks awesome!

HYPER JAPAN Winter is held in Olympia London in U.K. from Friday, November 16, 2018 to Sunday, November 18, 2018.
HYPER JAPAN Winter shows Japanese traditional culture, Japanese Foods, Japanese Traditional Crafts, and Sightseeing Promotion for Japan.
We exhibit our Kumanofude Makeup Brush Set with Makie "Goldfish" during the period of the event.

Our Makeup Brushes are exhibited at "China International Import Expo (CIIE2018)"
"China International Import Expo (CIIE 2018)" is held from November 5 to November 10 at Shanghai, China.
CIIE 2018 is held to expand import from foreign countries into China, and more than 3,000 enterprises participate from 130 countries, including U.S.A. and Europe.
223 companies and/or groups also participate from Japan in the “Japan booth” and the “Japan Pavilion” by sponsorship of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
We also exhibit our makeup brushes in the booth of Sumitomo Corporation in “Japan Pavilion.”
