We are launching “kimeri,” a new brand of makeup brushes.
It is a product of our precise craftsmanship and long-standing traditions.
The new brand is designed according to the concepts of craftsmanship and “OTONA KAWAII.”
It includes brushes with brand-new designs and shapes, including a collapsible brush.
One key point of these brushes is their portability.
The brushes’ foldable design allows you to bring them along on trips while maintaining their valuable brush tips. Taking inspiration from how the brush-makers of Kumano were originally traveling merchants, we have developed a brush that can be safely maintained without a carrying case, and whose tip can be easily washed. We seek to offer a “universal” makeup brush that can be used anytime, anywhere.
This brush also aims to remake “KAWAII” through craftsmanship.
A wide variety of makeup brushes exist from different brands. We sought to create a new brush that is not only easy to use and stylish in design, but whose form itself has meaning. We have arrived at a brush shape that feels friendly and approachable for people of all ages.
Our new brushes, handmade by skilled craftsmen, are small and elegant, with a soft brush texture and an endearing shape.
The handles are made from keyaki (Japanese zelkova), a Japanese wood notable for its beautiful grain, and walnut, a North American wood notable for its dark color and luster.
They are carefully crafted, one by one, by “kobiki” craftsman trained in the lacquerware tradition of the mountains of Ishikawa Prefecture – another traditional Japanese craft.
They are made with the lumber remnants from making bowls and tableware.
